Discuss the person and the space together
Ask the assessor to explain the intended seating and transfer positions at each end. A rail may fit the staircase while the proposed seat arrangement does not meet the user’s needs. Keep medical records out of general website inquiries.
Ask which options solve which problem
Request an explanation of swivel, folding, seat and control choices for the exact model. Identify standard equipment versus optional upgrades. Do not assume a powered feature is required or sufficient without a practical assessment.
Check the support behind the specification
Clarify who supplies replacement parts and handles servicing at the property. If a reconditioned model is offered, ask whether its available options match the agreed specification. Compare usability and written support before judging a premium model against a basic unit.
Keep the proposal comparable
- Exact equipment and a measured rail layout.
- Preparation, installation, demonstration and written terms.
- Servicing at the actual address, parts and removal responsibilities.
